The Mankato Regional Airport has been at its current location since 1970. Geographic location is five miles Northeast of Mankato and five miles Southeast of St. Peter.  A recent $12 million improvement project continues to make the Mankato Regional Airport one of Mankato's best positioned assets for growth.

The Mankato Regional Airport Commission is an advisory body to the Mankato City Council and City Staff.  The Commission consists of 12 members and meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 a.m., in the Mankato Regional Airport conference room.  There are currently four positions open on the Commission.  Three positions are for three-year terms and expire in 2012.  The remaining mid-term position is for two years and will expire in 2011.  Persons interested in seeking election to the Mankato Regional Airport Commission should contact Commission Chairperson Thomas Rieff via email, by mail (1717 3rd Avenue Mankato, MN 56001) or fax 507-344-8316.

The election will take place at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28 during the monthly airport commission meeting.

ARRA Airport Sponsor CertificationPursuant to Title XV, Subtitle A, section 1511 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Pub. L. 111-5 (Feb. 17, 2009) (“ARRA”), I, Patrick Hentges, hereby certify that the infrastructure investment funded by ARRA has received the full review and vetting required by law and that I accept responsibility that such investment is an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars. I further certify that the specific information required by section 1511 concerning each such investment (Runway 4/22 Rehabilitation, $957,235.35) is enclosed and is provided on the City of Mankato website, available to the public and linked to Recovery.gov.

I understand that the Sponsor making application for ARRA funding may not receive ARRA infrastructure investment funding unless this certification is received by the FAA with the ARRA grant application and posted on the Sponsor’s website.
