Construction of the veterans memorial will be privately funded.
The memorial is expected to be dedicated as Veterans Memorial Place and will be maintained by the City of Mankato Public Works-Parks staff.
Property was designated for a memorial as part of construction of the Veterans Memorial Bridge in the 1980's. The property is owned by the Federal government and managed by the City of Mankato.
Local veterans have developed the concept in memory of those who have served our country.
Completion is anticipated within the next year.
