The Street Divisions mission is to maintain for the traveling public a safe and efficient transportation system throughout the City of Mankato’s infrastructure of roadways. We strive to meet these challenges with professional and consistent service. In our efforts to accomplish this we incorporate industry wide Best Practices expend time and resources on employee training and continue to maximize the City’s equipment set.

This infrastructure contains approximately 157 miles of roads made up of 432 lane miles and 11.6 miles of alleys. It is also the responsibility of the Streets Division to maintain the overhead street lighting, traffic control signal system, traffic signs and pavement markings within the City of Mankato. These are maintained at the highest possible quality of service using the most cost efficient methods and technology.
