Patrick Hentges has served as city manager for the city of Mankato since 1996. He has an M.A. in urban management from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a B.A. in urban affairs from St. Cloud State University. Prior to becoming Mankato's city manager he served as city manager of Columbia Heights, Minnesota and city administrator of Faribault, Minnesota. Hentges also has CEO experience in private industry. During his over 27 years of public service, he has developed a specialized expertise and has advance training in land use planning, strategic planning and organizational development.
During his tenure in Mankato, Patrick Hentges has been involved in the establishment of major commercial and industrial expansion, revitalization of the City Center and facilitated the city’s first strategic plan. Hentges has fostered the reorganization of the city’s service delivery process and put into place the community’s sustainability strategy.
Under Hentges’ financial stewardship, the city has been recognized with unprecedented upgrades to its bond rating.

Tanya Ange serves as the assistant city manager. She has a master's degree in urban studies management and a bachelor's in recreation management and urban studies.
In addition to coordinating and project-managing city strategic initiatives, Ange oversees the city manager's office, finance, information technology, public information, customer service and serves as the acting city manager in his absence.
