Community Athletic Fields grand opening

Our community is rich in natural and historic areas and sites that have been developed into more than 600 acres of quality park and recreation areas. The park areas available throughout Mankato feature a wide variety of recreational and leisure facilities, including neighborhood park playfields, playground equipment, basketball courts, tennis courts, walking and hiking trails, softball and baseball diamonds, fishing areas, nature areas, swimming areas and picnic areas.

New in 2012, are the Community Athletic Fields co-located at Mankato Area Public Schools' Rosa Parks Elementary School, 1101 Heron Drive, Mankato.  View fast facts about the baseball fields.

Dogs are allowed on the walking/biking trails and in the following parks: F.A. Buscher, Erlandson, Highland, the Kiwanis Recreation Area, Land of Memories Park and Lions Park, which features special parks for dogs. Dogs are also allowed at Premier Pond and Rasmussen Woods and need to be on a leash. Otherwise, pets are prohibited in Mankato's parks.
