Choice Voucher Program

The City of Mankato administers the federally funded Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program for the City of Mankato and for Blue Earth County. Participants of this program receive a voucher that can be used to rent a unit in the private rental market. Program participants pay about 30 percent of their income toward their rent and utilities. Before assistance is paid, the unit is inspected to ensure it is safe, decent, and sanitary. Housing currently serves 500 families and individuals on the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Applicants must meet income guidelines and make an appointment to apply.
