What are the eligibility requirements?
Anyone thinking about buying a home in Minnesota is eligible. There is no minimum or maximum income limit to receive services.
The Home Stretch program can put you in a home of your own.
Purchasing a home is one of the biggest investments one will ever make. Some mortgage lenders require borrowers to complete an
approved home buyer education course in order to qualify for an affordable mortgage loan.
The Home Stretch Program meets the home buyer education requirements of Minnesota lenders, national secondary markets, major insurers and investors. Certified facilitators and housing professionals conduct the Home Stretch workshops using a nationally approved curriculum.
Workshops are held at the city of Mankato offices in the Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza. The course fee is $30, payable to the city of Mankato the first night of class. Participants will receive a certificate upon course completion.Pre-registration is requested because of limited space. For course dates or to register, contact staff at 311 or 507-387-8600.
