Summer swimming at Hiniker Pond by Jason Bennett, Mankato.
Hiniker Pond is a 55-acre park that has a 28-acre, spring fed pond. The pond, a former sand and gravel pit, has exceptional water quality for swimming and fishing. Amenities include a sandy beach, a fishing pier, picnic shelters, walking trails and restrooms. The fishing pond is handicapped-accessible. Hinker Pond is accessible from the frontage road on Highway 169 north. See a parks map.
Hiniker Pond is open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. The beach is open for use during the summer from 9 a.m. to sunset.
Please note: NO LIFEGUARDS on duty.
