Find the Keys to a Better Future
Being self-sufficient is within reach Printable brochure (pdf)

Becoming self-sufficient is an achievable goal. Learn how to create and reach that goal through the Family Self-Sufficiency Program.
Build a solid future
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program helps build a solid foundation for the future. This voluntary program is designed for families who have an interest in maintaining employment and achieving financial freedom. Trained program coordinators work with participants one-on-one to develop plans and goals to positively impact them in the years to come.
Realize more opportunities
Participants who complete the program may use their savings accounts for a variety of opportunities including:
- Purchasing a home
- Returning to school
- Buying vehicle
- And much more
A savings account starts when a participant’s rent increases due to an increase in earned income. The amount contributed to the account is determined by how much earned income increases over the contract’s term.
Open doors to home ownership
Family Self-Sufficiency participants are given preference on the First Home (Home Buyer Program) and Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (Home Ownership Program).
