This unique 150 acre tract is the only park in Mankato designed solely for passive recreation. Located at 555 Stoltzman Road in Mankato, its users include people of all ages who come to hike the trails and enjoy the natural beauty of the area, and to observe the wide variety of wildlife.
Rasmussen Woods is a place for all seasons. There are five miles of hiking trails that allow hikers to go through two meadows and wetlands. Hikers will come upon a gazebo, be able to walk across two floating trails, past dolomite cliff formations and a hillside park overlook. There's an abundance of natural beauty to enjoy in its natural environment.
The Elk's Nature Center, built in the spring of 1989, thanks to a large donation from the Mankato Elk's Club, provides a permanent structure for promoting environmental education programs. Periodic special interest events are offered for adults and children alike at no cost. The center is open to the public and special interest groups.
