Is my street scheduled for reconstruction?
Streets, sidewalks and alleys currently scheduled for construction are listed in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). This plan is reviewed annually and changes are made depending on new developments which may give the street, sidewalk, or alley project a higher priority. The CIP identifies full street reconstruction including replacement of utilities, as well as overlays. In addition, staff sealcoats many city streets each year to increase their lifespan.

If a street or alley is scheduled for reconstruction, residents in the area are notified of a public hearing, which provides an opportunity for them to express their views. Prior to construction, residents are invited to a public meeting where construction details and access issues are explained. Assessments are levied after the project's completion when final construction quantities are known. At that time residents will have several payment options.

I don't see my street listed in the CIP. How can we get it added?
At any given time, several projects are competing for limited funding. One way to add a street is to use the petition projects option. This option requires the agreement of all property owners along the street. The full cost of the reconstruction will go to property owners through the assessment process.
