Burt Lyman has worked with the City of Mankato since 1998. Lyman works with Civic Center staff and other city team members bring events to the Mankato area. He oversees the negotiation of suite, signage and sponsorship agreements, books major events and acts as liaison between Civic Center staff and the City. Additionally, he brings his expertise in planning and promoting major public events and family shows to the Mankato’s annual Hickory Street RibFest and air shows.

Prior to joining the City of Mankato, Lyman operated an events marketing firm in Minneapolis. He was national marketing manager for Ogden Entertainment. He also worked as the director of sales and marketing at the FargoDome in North Dakota. Lyman graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in Latin American History and Spanish. He continued studies through the International Association of Assembly Managers Senior Management Symposium and the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.
