How does Auto Pay work?
The city of Mankato’s automatic utility payment option will allow your financial institution to automatically transfer the amount of your monthly utility bill from your account to the city of Mankato. You will still receive your monthly utility bill. The amount transferred will also appear on your monthly bank statement. The amount due will not be transferred out of your account before the due date on the utility bill.

Withdraw from this plan at any time by notifying the city of Mankato in writing. Please understand that the city of Mankato has the right to cancel use of this automatic pay plan at any time.

How do I sign up?
Fill out a printable application. This form can be filled out on a computer then printed out and sent in with current payment (this must be sent whether enrolling for the first time or changing accounts) or to the address on the form. (Note: this file cannot be saved on your computer; it must be printed to include the information entered.) Please include a voided check or savings deposit slip with your application. The city of Mankato requests a copy of a voided check or savings deposit slip to verify routing and account numbers and as a security measure to ensure you are the account holder.

Within two months, you'll see a message stating that payments will be automatically deducted. Until then, make payments as usual. Please provide your name, account information, service address and customer number, which is located on utility bill. Include your email address if you would also like to sign-up for paperless billing and receive an additional $1 discount each month or sign up for online paperless bills.

Why can't I apply for auto pay online?
The city of Mankato cares about your privacy and has a policy citizens’ financial information is not stored online.
