Mankato’s public housing is scattered throughout the city, and not congregated in one location or neighborhood. And, it has a new name–Affordable Rental Housing, which does a better job of describing its purpose for our community.
The Mankato Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) Program allows low-income persons and families to live in subsidized housing managed by the City of Mankato. Program participants pay 30 percent of their income for rent and utilities The City of Mankato manages 247 properties throughout Blue Earth County from one bedroom apartments to five bedroom, single-family homes. Applicants may apply for housing in Mankato, Eagle Lake, Madison Lake, Mapleton and Lake Crystal. To qualify for the Affordable Rental Program, applicants must meet income guidelines and have good rental references.
Applications are available online. For an appointment to apply, contact staff at (507) 387-8631.
